Valentina's kite

La cometa de Valentina. Valentina y su abuelo hacen una cometa, el viento se la lleva y la recuperan con la ayuda de Omar. Practica el pasado simple, going to y los conectores then y after that.

Last Saturday, Valentina and her grandfather made a kite. They used colouredcolored paper, two thin sticks and a long piece of string. Valentina painted a big yellow sun on it because yellow is her favouritefavorite colourcolor.

In the afternoon, they went up a hill near their village. It was very windy. Valentina ran fast, and the kite flew up into the sky. "Look, Grandpa! It's flying!" she shouted.

Then something terrible happened. A strong wind blew and the string broke. The kite flew away over the trees. Valentina was very sad. "Don't worry," said her grandfather. "We're going to find it."

They walked down the hill and looked everywhere. After that, they arrived at a small farm, where a boy was feeding some goats. "Did you see a kite with a yellow sun?" asked Valentina. "Yes! It's in the big tree behind my house," said the boy. "I'm Omar. Come with me!"

Omar brought a ladder, and Valentina's grandfather climbed up carefully. He took the kite out of the tree. It had a small hole, but the sticks weren't broken.

Valentina thanked Omar and invited him to fly the kite with them. At home, they repaired the hole with paper and glue. Next Saturday, they are going to fly the kite again, and Omar is going to come too!
